UK Tour 2023!

This year, I have decided that it is time to spread my wings and boldly go where I have never been before! 2023 is going to be an exciting year for James Gibson Photography!

I will kick this blog off with a plug for the Veganuary Collection of t-shirts which are available until Sunday 5th February 2023! So grab yours while you can and show the world why YOU are vegan this Veganuary.

Fundraising

First of all, I am going to be taking part in the Plymouth Half Marathon on 14th May 2023. For those of you who have been around for a while, you will know that I broke my ankle back in October 2021 so this is a perfect opportunity to build myself back up to where I was while also completing my first half marathon AND raising money for Little Pigs at Home.

I visited Little Pigs At Home late last summer. They are a great little sanctuary in South West Wales. One of their girls is having an op in February and, although after the fact, any money raised will greatly help with the costs for Bluebell and all of her friends. If you are interested in donating, here is the Just Giving page.

May Gets Even Busier

Now into my 3rd year as a sanctuary photographer, I feel it is time to visiting new places and sanctuaries. Starting on Saturday 20th May 2023, I will be travelling around the UK and visiting sanctuaries all over the country. I am currently contacting the sanctuaries and have based my route on visiting over a dozen sanctuaries in 14 days.

For accommodation I will be staying in a mix of a van, at sanctuaries with holiday rooms and then the odd hotel where there are no other options.

The route will take me from Somerset to South Wales and through Brecon Beacon, up to Snowdonia National Park, across to Merseyside, north to the Lake District, up to Loch Lomond and then starting the journey back towards home! That takes me to Edinburgh, south along the Northumberland coast, to Newcastle, Whitby and then back inland to the Midlands before finally heading for home.

Here is the rough route:

So, although I have quite a few sanctuaries in mind already, if you know any on/near the route, let me know, especially if you are one of those sanctuaries and I haven't been in touch yet! Of course, I am also planning on another trip, probably in 2024, to cover the East and South of England as well.

This tour should also see the launch of the YouTube channel properly as I intend to post regular updates and videos from the sanctuaries and wherever I am each night! I will of course keep you updated on that.

I hope you join me on this journey and, together, we can help support more sanctuaries than ever before, making 2023 the best one yet!
